Research and Development

Earthbag technology is now tried and tested, and is emerging as the worlds’ leading sustainable building method. Much research and development work, however, remains to be done. We do our part, devoting considerable time and effort to design and research.

Months of research and structural calculations performed by our engineers led to the historic approval of Earthbag technology by the Nepali government.

Publication of “Earthbag Technology-Simple, Safe and Sustainable” in the peer-reviewed Technical Journal of the Nepal Engineer’s Association introduced the technique to thousands of engineers, and should spark further research and testing.

In 2016 our Technical Adviser and Method Ambassador, Dr. Owen Geiger, performed a month-long physical inspection of recent Earthbag construction in Nepal. Dr. Geiger's findings and structural analysis resulted in improved design and building,
